The third design in the 2015 runway inspired collection come from Valentino’s ultra popular Pastel RockStud shoes and purses. I love the soft colour palette paired with a little studded edge so I created a five tier cake paired with macarons.

When creating a fashion design dessert collection around runway inspired looks, one can not avoid Chanel as inspiration. I’m always inspired by new colour palettes and textures from Chanel that are both whimsical and classic, sexy and girly. For this look I chose a gorgeously detailed floral beaded dress for inspiration for the Cake and croissant. In sugar, I had to hand make hundreds of matching beads and tiny flowers to create this look and for a pairing dessert I had fun with making a couture croissant with cigarettes. (the cliche classic french breakfast).

I’ll admit it’s been years since I’ve wrote a blog post a it can be hard to find time between flights and work. However I’m thrilled to share a new collection of cakes I designed inspired by 2015 runway collections. The first design started the idea for the collection. When I saw this Marchesa (Spring/Summer Couture 2015) feather fleur gown, I was in love and designed this four tier pastel feathered cake and matching lemon tart. (For some reason I dreamed of eating a lemon tart in that gown. ) I’ll be posting daily the new collection on my Instagram .

We all have favourite flowers and for me it’s the Juliet Rose. Though I’m not a fan of roses (but appreciate their beauty) there’s something striking about the odd centres and peachy/coral tones of this particular rose. When designing this Parisian influenced cake design I thought the peach and coral tones of this rose would be the perfect fit to pair with this French blue and gold cake which was enjoyed at an intimate celebratory affair.
